The Great God Pan is a horror novel written by the Welsh novelist Arthur Machen, whose works had influential effects on the supernatural fiction genre. Dr. Raymond perform a brain surgery on Mary in an effort to seeing the (Greek mythical) God Pan. His surgery has horrific effects and she wakes up mentally crippled. Years later a woman named Helen Vaughan has been allegedly causing many mysterious incidents. Her encounters with anybody results in a terrifying end. The mystery is finally revealed that she is none other than the daughter of Mary. She ends up dying after many transformations from human to beast.
