This novel narrates the story of an illegitimate child Tom Jones who was found in the premises of a kind and wealthy landowner Squire Allworthy. Tom grows as an honest boy and fall in love with Sophia Western, daughter of his neighbor. His illegitimate past becomes a hurdle for his love and the society still looks him as a bastard. This work was criticized for its low quality on of promiscuity and prostitution contents throughout the plot.
